On Sunday, May 5th, the Richardson-Plano Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Kappa League Picnic Event, and it was a powerful reminder of what our brotherhood and community are all about. Set against a backdrop of sunshine, laughter, and fellowship, the event brought together Kappa League young men, parents, Kappa brothers, and supporters for a full day of sports, mentorship, bonding, and outstanding food.

From the moment the grills fired up and the basketballs hit the court, the energy was electric. The young men of the Kappa League had an unforgettable time—laughing, competing, learning, and growing together. They played spirited basketball games, showed off their skills, and more importantly, deepened their bonds with one another and with their mentors. Watching their smiles, their teamwork, and their joy was a highlight for everyone in attendance.

Mentorship remained a cornerstone of the day, as Kappa men shared impactful words of wisdom with the next generation. These conversations—sometimes formal, sometimes casual—are what build the foundation for strong, confident, and empowered young leaders. Whether on the sidelines of a game or over a plate of food, these moments of guidance and encouragement will stay with these young men far beyond the picnic.

The event was also enriched by strong parental engagement, with many parents in attendance participating in meaningful conversations and getting a firsthand look at the positive impact the Kappa League is having on their sons. Their presence was invaluable, and their support underscores the family-driven approach that lies at the heart of our programming.

And of course, no Kappa event would be complete without great food—and this picnic delivered! Our Kappa Brothers handled the grill like pros, serving up classic picnic favorites that brought smiles and full stomachs to all. The food was fantastic, and the fellowship around the table was even better.

Throughout the day, Kappa Brothers fellowshipped in the spirit of Phi Nu Pi, enjoying each other’s company, reconnecting, and reaffirming our commitment to guide, support, and uplift our Kappa Leaguers. It was a beautiful display of unity, purpose, and joy.
As the sun set on a perfect day, it was clear that the 2nd Annual Richardson-Plano Kappa League Picnic Event was more than just a gathering—it was a celebration of community, a showcase of youth potential, and a reaffirmation of our mission to lead and serve.
We’re already looking forward to next year. Until then, Kids finish the school year strong and of course, YO to the Nupes!
